Adding a Icon

Post by leavereality »

Hi made a very small program in hollywood, but I want to add my own icon on Windows,

I kinda of got it working via

@REQUIRE "iconic"
@APPICON "icon.ico"

But when I try and run the .exe it says Hollywood player doesnt know ico file. I fixed it by adding the iconic.hwp file to same folder, but is there another way of doing it, if not how do I add the plugin to be part of the exe, I read something about LinkerPlugins, but I dont quite get how it works, sorry, not the best programmer. cheers

Plus it be great as feature request, is when you compile the app extra option for adding icon files. Cheers.

Found a way around it, iconic made the icon and then I saved the ico separately and then dont need the program again! Yay

Still it be nice if this was part of maybe the compile bit to add an icon. Cheers.

The manual entry for @APPICON does have examples at the bottom showing how to do this with PNG images. You don't need Iconic for that.
Resize your icon image for all resolutions, save them with SaveIcon() and insert the table with the paths/filenames of these images at the beginning of the program.

Correction: SaveIcon() is not necessary if the images are specified individually.
