Hello again
I'm trying to install Hollywood 1.9 on my WinUAE setup and am running into a problem
COPYFILES: Couldn't copy file "settings" in line 422 Dos error type: unable to delete a file or drawer - it was delete protected
This comes up about halfway through the process and aborts the installation.
I took your advice, copied the entire CD into RAM: (gotta love it), started shell and typed PROTECT sys:#? RWED ALL which still resulted in the above error
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Drew,
I assume you meant to type PROTECT RAM:#? RWED ALL instead, since you had copied the files to the RAM disk?

Btw, this UAE behaviour is really a pain. Does anyone know why it's behaving this way? I mean, this is clearly an incompatibility with the Amiga CDFS which doesn't mark files copied from CD as read-only... anyway, the Hollywood 4 installer takes care of all this, so you won't have any problem installing on UAE with the latest version of Hollywood.
Hollywood 1.9 is damn old... you should really consider upgrading because 1.9 even has the old script language which is very very limited
You need to unprotect the files copied from the CD in RAM: too. Then it should work.Hello again

I couldn't tell you whats incompatible with WinUAE. I assume that you'd have to contact the WinUAE programer, since he's still updating it.
Hi Andreas. I got this copy on ebay for rather cheap, not knowing that I would have to return it to you so that I could get my own personal copy. Most Amiga software doesn't care who you are. I wanted to give it a try, just in case it had features that I would want to use, such as some projects that I've got on the drawing board. After it didn't function very well on my A3000, I put it aside, and then the move. Plus, I'm limited to sending cash and money orders, which makes buying most anything online these days a hassle. You need to unprotect the files copied from the CD in RAM: too. Then it should work.

Installation worked! Hollywood and Designer seems to function and all the demo's run fine and look nice. Looks like I'm missing a few libraries.
Thanks everyone!
