Hi,
is there someone here who has tried Hollywood under Windows Vista?
I'm asking because I get distorted Protracker sound under Vista here and I would like to know if this is a general problem under Vista or only related to my sound board.
So is anyone else on this list who gets distorted Protracker sound on Vista with Hollywood? (Try for example the Welcome presentation on the Hollywood 3 CD-ROM).

Hello Andreas, I'm getting distorted sounds too, they seems like samples with too low sampling rate, and a bit cutted due too much amplification... It's difficult to describe this distortion effect.
Anyway I've tried the executable under: Vista Home Premium - SP1 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 Audio: Realtek HD
Regards, Fabio

Under XP this worked all fine, but now under Vista, surprise surprise, latency's too low. So I increased the buffer size to twice its size (19200 bytes = 100 ms) and now it plays perfectly. Seems like Vista isn't as fast as XP concerning sound buffer latency... *sigh*
Yes, I fixed it now. Seems like Vista needs a higher latency. I was using a buffer of 9600 bytes for Protracker playing. 9600 bytes can carry 2400 stereo 16-bit formatted samples (4 bytes per sample frame). Protracker modules are clocked at 48000 hz per second so this means that a 9600 bytes buffer could carry 0.05 seconds of Protracker music (50 ms) before requiring a refresh.Hello Andreas, I'm getting distorted sounds too, they seems like samples with too low sampling rate, and a bit cutted due too much amplification...
