PDF available to download anywhere?

Hi Andreas,

I will be considering purchasing HW 5 in the future, but not right now the upgrade price of 69 euros is a shocker.

In the meantime I'd like to take a look at the documentation. Is there any chance of uploading the Amigaguide or the PDF to your website?

I find it odd that this documentation cannot be viewed before purchasing HW; with access to documentation prior to purchase surely this would encourage more people to choose HW over alternatives.

It´s actually 59EUR Upgrade Price from V4.8.

Andreas did a lot of work into this, the price seems to be a shoker on the fist view but on the second view it is at least "okay" and fair.

Please also keep in mind that development is almost entirely financed through existing customers buying upgrades. You can easily imagine that there are hardly any new customers. Thus, the existing user base has to fund the development by buying upgrades. Also, creating the PDF was not an easy thing. A new metaformat had to be conceived along with a program which allows me to export the documentation into AmigaGuide, HTML, CHM, and PDF. This was surely about a month of work.

I keep all this in mind Andreas and appreciate your work on this project. :) However, I still believe it would be worthwhile being able to download the documentation directly from your site before purchasing - this would be helpful to prospective customers so they can see what Hollywood can do for them instead of purely relying on buzz words in bullet points.
You could even ask them for their email address first before allowing the download - thus you have a database of prospectives who you can target marketing emails at - in order to increase the user base.
Again as per our email exchange, your website needs some tlc - simply moving all your pages and images across to a CMS would both be inexpensive, bring about some modernity to your site and allow easier updates and maintenance. In addition you could explore social media plug-ins so that the site is shared on facebook and over the place - bring new traffic to the site - free marketing gotta love it.

Guess I'll have to dip into my pocket, I'm sure I can find the money from somewhere.

@fingus

I currently use 4.7.

Still waiting to get started! Having some problems with the installer, keeps asking for the previous Hollywood CD-ROM... well I don't have one I just mounted the ISO when I purchased 4.7 so I can't get past the integrity check cycle atm. :/

Yay I am up and running! Thanks Andreas for all your help.

Impressive intros during installation - I urge everyone who hasn't bought it yet to do so!
