It's C++ so it's tricky to get this compiled as a shared library.
About a year ago I was talking to Edgar Schwan who said he was working on an updated HTMLview.mcc gadget fixed to work with MUI 4 and up. He even sent me a test version and I remember it worked nicely on OS4 with the latest MUI. But it looks like he never released it so maybe get in touch with him and ask about the status of the project. I think the more people ask for a fixed HTMLview.mcc the higher his motivation is
