Designer V6 install on V4+ stand alone

Post by ReddoC »

Hello,

I am a new owner of Hollywood 10 and Designer V6.

I have installed Hollywood and it's working. But when trying to install Designer, i got an error :

" Please insert volume "*>NIL" in any drive "

Help :)

Hmm, when exactly during the installation procedure does that occur?

- language Screen
- Thanks Screen, requiere 60 megabytes
- Installation choice

Which OS version is in use?

Might be the same issue I ran into with OS3.2 with RNOArchive:
The issue
A solution

OS3.2 handle(s/d) redirections differently to other OSes... on purpose or not, fixed or not, I don't know.

BTW. IIRC the fix (if any other way either) doesn't work on AROS then, but all other systems are ok.

I'd also say that this looks like an incompatibility with the OS used on the Vampire. However, you can do a manual installation of Hollywood Designer like this:

1) Create a "Designer" directory somewhere on your HD
2) Copy all files from the "Data" to the "Designer" directory
3) Copy the file "Designer" from Platform/AmigaOS3 to the "Designer" directory
4) Copy the file "Designer.key" to the "Designer" directory
5) Copy the icons from Icons/GlowIcons to the "Designer" directory
6) Copy the catalogs from the "Locale" directory to LOCALE:Catalogs
7) Add a "Designer:" assign that points to your "Designer" directory to S:User-Startup

Then reboot and it should work :)
