AROS requirements for Polybios render

Post by ntromans »

Following a discussion on AROS-Exec, could I please ask as AROS is now compiled using GCC 6.5 (which I think I'm correct in saying supports C++11), what extra is needed for Polybios to be fully functional?

Many thanks,
Nigel.

It also needs wide char support which was missing last time I checked but that was some years ago.

By 'wide character', deos that mean unicode? When I asked about Polybios support on AROS-Exec it was mentioned that unicode support was in place.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Yes, it's Unicode but without any advanced functionality like collation or so. It's basically just the standard string functions from the C runtime with support for wide characters what Polybios needs AFAIR. This is not particularly difficult to support but last time I checked it wasn't supported on AROS.

I had a reply from Deadwood - the wide character support is currently not present, but possibly may be once the updaing of ABI0 to the same level as ABI1 is completed. I'll keep an eye on the update information and make a note here once there's some news.

Cheers,
Nigel.
