Evolve - Urgent - TESTERS REQUIRED NOW

Post by djrikki » Tue May 24, 2016 10:52 pm

Hello,

Please find a download link to the latest development build of Evolve for AmigaOS.

http://boogiebeats.co.uk/amiga/Evolve.lha

If you would like to get involved with testing please submit your bug reports to rikki.lake@ntlworld.com.

Please note the current state of Evolve is not reflective of a final release - this is strictly a development build and is constantly evolving (pardon the pun) with regular nightly builds implementing new features and functions, and fixes bugs and omissions.

I will update this thread again in the next couple of days with further information.

Morning,

Okay I was little rushed yesterday in posting, but just a smal update from me. I tend to find an hour each morning to add new features, fix bugs and generally develop Evolve further. This morning I added the RapaGUI Class PageView into the mix along with some corrections to the last added RapaGUI Class TreeView - the toolbar button wasn't calling the hollywood function in the first instance.

As Andreas' documentation has always been so strong and the similairity with MUI Royale are very sammy it has so far been possible to add all these new and exciting classes without upgrading Hollywood to 6.1. Anyway, its pay day soon (yay) so I decided to purchase 6.1. One day I am sure I will recode Evolve itself in RapaGUI, but atm, with nearly 2 years already of active development there comes a point where you have to cut-off adding new things and get the thing finished and out their in the wild!

Evolve has been a huge task for me to undertake and I must stress the amount of effort to get this to point alone has been considerable and I cannot help but request again how much further help I need in product testing this beast.

So please do learn the MUI Royale framework and the RapaGUI framework, do build a Layout in Evolve, Save it, use the Build feature and check the code is 100% accurate in what it outputs.

Things to know at this point, stuff I am aware of, the more obvious stuff.

1. I don't know why the interface is so Wide, I think I have a superfluous <rectangle/> hiding away in the Layout panel somewhere..
2. I am still having issues with a consistent DSI in the Layout panel, the Default window on Project creation has been stripped back to try and elivate the pain.
3. When creating new classes in Layout you will see the error message 'this ID already exists' from time to time, please bare with me, I am still working on improving the randomisation of class IDs.

Enjoy.

Evolve project re-started

Post by djrikki » Wed Mar 07, 2018 2:59 pm

Life has got in the way big time in the last couple of years as my interested in all things Amiga took a back sit.

However, I have taken tentative steps to address this imbalance and work has already started on rebooting this effort, feel free to follow updates on the associated facebook page as I move forward to make Evolve a reality.

PS. And yes, I will probably need testers some time soon.
