Hello Andreas. Good day all.

I've finally got around to installing my copy of Hollywood 1.9 now that I've got a dedicated WinUAE setup on my new laptop with the settings as a fully expanded A4000. I initially installed Hollywood on my stock A3000, but, it was slow as hell, often crashed, and looked pretty bad. Then I had to move and didn't have any of my Amiga stuff for a lot of months.

I've got some interesting projects in mind, and Hollywood looks to be a good program to do them with. However, right out of the starting gate, I'm running into problems.

The initial installation gave me a strange error. About halfway through, it said that my disk is write protected and aborted the installation, leaving me with some drawers and a non functioning tool icon.

What in hell is going on!? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hello ans Welcome,

Here is may be your solution:

"That's the old WinUAE protection flag issue. The problem is that all files copied from CD-ROM will get a READ ONLY flag set... thus, when you try to overwrite this, you get an error. It's totally a pain... the best way to install Hollywood on WinUAE is to copy the whole CD-ROM to hard disk and then make sure that ALL files on the HD can be written. E.g. by entering:

Code: Select all

1> Protect SYS:#? RWED ALL
That was the solution given by Andreas

A500 / A600 / A1200 / SAM440
WinUAE OS3.9 (AmiKit) / OS4.1FE (FlowerPot)
