Code business is back. In 2022 Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hollywood, the cross-platform multimedia application layer. To kick off the celebrations we are proud to present a brand-new plugin for Hollywood: Iconic. Iconic is the ultimate icon loader and saver plugin for Hollywood. It will make all your icon dreams come true because it can load and save icons in pretty much all of the most common icon formats. The following formats are currently supported:

- AmigaOS 1.x style icons
- AmigaOS 2.x/3.x style icons
- AmigaOS 3.5/3.9 icons (aka GlowIcons)
- AmigaOS 4.x icons
- macOS icons (*.icns format)
- MagicWB icons
- MorphOS/PowerIcons icons (PNG)
- NewIcons
- Windows icons (*.ico format)

Of course, Iconic also supports loading and saving of the metadata found in the Amiga icon formats like tooltypes, icon position, drawer view mode, icon type and so on. Thanks to Hollywood 9's new support for palette images it is also possible to load the icon palette, set a transparent pen and access the raw palette pens used in the icon image data. Of course, Iconic doesn't only support palette-based icon images but also icons that contain true colour images with alpha channel. Several of the icon formats listed above also support palette and true colour images within the same icon file and several different icon sizes within the same icon file. All of this is supported by Iconic as well!

This is why Iconic is the ultimate icon plugin for Hollywood and a must-have for every Hollywood user. The plugin is now available for free download from the official Hollywood portal. Thanks to Hollywood's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS3, AmigaOS4, MorphOS, WarpOS, AROS (x86), Linux (arm, ppc, x86, x64), macOS (ppc, x86, x64), Windows (x86, x64), Android and iOS are provided. Note that Hollywood 9 is strictly required by Iconic.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hollywood we also offer a special 20 euros discount on the full version of Hollywood for a limited time only. This is the perfect chance for all people who don't own Hollywood yet to grab their own copy and to explore the wonderful world of Hollywood and be fascinated by the gigantic functionality of this unique piece of software and all of the plugins that come with it! This release was brought to you by Airsoft Softwair - the hardest working men in code business.

Whee... I was just trying to kick myself to start creating yet another icon for 68k (original + GlowIcon), but I always get some gray hairs with OS3/OS4 icon editors... maybe I could come up with a more pleasant experience with this :)

Ahh! 20th anniversary?
It is a paradoxon: I wish I was born at the same time as Hollywood, but I know and respect Hollywood because born much earlier. :-)

Nice plugin again! From this time no excuse on default icons at any target.

Thanks for this plugin.
Perhaps someone can use this to make a good icon editior, or an icon converter tool.

The instructions seem to be in the readme file, but the
doc and examples folder is missing.
Will the help files be created and included later?

From the info in the readme file you can load png icons and save in any format. But can you also import a plain png file and save as an icon? Or save icon from a brush?

I'm going to add icon saving option for RNOEffects at least, maybe even a dedicated built-in tool for making more customized icons...

Yes you can do those. Remember to read the Icon library section from the main Hollywood documentation for more info.

I already played a bit with icon saving, and was successful to create NewIcon and GlowIcon from a PNG image... and it created automatically the fallback icon. Now I'd should figure out what is the correct way to create own custom fallback icon instead of letting it to create it automatically...
