OnWheelLeft and OnWheelRight

Hi Andreas,

With A-Eon's new amiga mouse you can now use the scroll wheel of the mouse to go left and right. However, I have no idea whether the OS currently supports those movements (I'll post on Hyperion's forum now I think and pose the question). If the answer is Yes it is supported then it would be great if we could have OnWheelLeft and OnWheelRight as well - I already have an idea of what I could use it for.

It has been confirmed that OS4 supports OnWheelLeft and OnWheelRight so I'd like to add that to the wish list now if I may. :D

Me too, it's far too specific for Hollywood. No one really needs left and right mouse wheels :)

@fingus:

Imagine for a minute you have one of Tuxedo's high resolution images open on screen *chuckles* its in a window with scroll bars.

Now, if you scroll up and down with the scroll wheel it pans the image up and down correct?

Now with a mouse that can scroll left and right as well (i.e. A-Eon Amiga Mouse) you can pan the image left and right as well.

Few programs use it tbh, the only two I can think of right now are in the Adobe suite, namely Illustrator and Photoshop, I also believe some browsers use it as well. Without swapping mice I believe Safari can do this and mostly the others - excluding Internet Explorer I guess *another chuckle*.

So yes its uses generally atm are panning around large images and around web pages that extend beyond the window size.

I was thinking it would be a nice feature for say LoView, Jack or any other Hollywood app to be able to take advantage of.

However, I respect Andreas' view on this, its hardly essential right now. But its still a valid "Wish". :D
