I notice that when adding an animation object that .png files seem to be supported (judging by the default filetype pattern)
But it fail to load the png I have created. It is a picture with 4 frames, 400x100 pixels.
To get around it I split it into 4 100x100 files, and used these to create a .apng file with an online converter tool.
Are .png files not supported as animations then?
PNG as anim files
Re: PNG as anim files
Did you install the "APNG Anim" Plugin ?
Re: PNG as anim files
.apng files does seem to work even without that plugin installed.
This was a .png file, not a .apng
But I did now try to download and install the APNG plugin, and ticked it as a required plugin.
Still Designer will complain about not a valid file format when trying to load it as an animation object.

Re: PNG as anim files
Works fine here. Can you provide the file that Designer refuses to load?
Re: PNG as anim files
Mystery solved.
I got mislead by the requestor text 'Do you want to load a single animation file?' and clicked yes to load my file.
At the next select anim file dialog, the pattern matching does include .png files, but selecting a png file at this point would give the error message.
Now I know I must reply 'No' (even if it is a single file I want to load) to the requestor to bring up the other dialog.
