Yes, using layers is the way to go. Try this code:

EnableLayers()
TextOut(0, 0, "This string will be changed", {Name="Time"})
Function p_UpdateTime()
time$=GetTime(True)
SetLayerStyle("Time", {Text=time$})
EndFunction
SetInterval(1, p_UpdateTime, 1000)
Repeat
WaitEvent
Forever

Yes, but... Since the specified id was the same why dont use the same? In that way we have duplicates whit same name... Yes, Hollywood assigns a new "number" (#LIGHTUSERDATA) every time Nil is used with automatic id selection.

You have to decide whether you want to use Sprites or Layers. (Either one would probably work for you, but you can't use them both at the same time.)
Just check the documentation for more information on both methods.

Yes, Rigo has done a fantastic job with the Hollywood plugin for CodeBench.

I really love using it. It makes navigating and coding large Hollywood projects much easier and faster.

All OS4.x Hollywood users should definitely check it out.
