Re: 2 Questions about BGPic-Function

@fingus: Every Hollywood display has a BGPic attached to it. You can't work without them. So yes, everything that you listed is possible.

Re: Hollywood on different systems speed comparison...

It could also be that fetching Intuition events is slower on OS4 than on MorphOS. Hollywood fetches these events quite often to stay fully responsive. If OS4 is slower here than MorphOS this would be an explanation for the significant speed differences between both systems.

Re: Flipclock V1.0

FAO Andreas, Hey, is there any chance of adding support for creating transparent displays/windows? I tried to do the same thing as Fingus sometime ago, using the GrabDesktop() trick - doesn't really work very well - users did need to move windows right! Um, display transparency is already possible....

Re: TextWidth() with Format Tags

This might be supported in the future. As a workaround, you can write a function which breaks down a formatted string into its constituents and then call TextWidth() for each constituent. As both TextWidth() and TextExtent() take the style set using SetFontStyle() into account you can just set the s...

Re: AmigaOS4.1 Programm icon

As the documentation says, @APPICON is only supported on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux because these systems use icons compiled into the executables directly. On AmigaOS, however, the icon is always kept externally. That's why you have to use the SetWBIcon() function instead.

Re: #ENCODING_UTF8 Support for Additional Functions

That's already possible but it seems that I forgot to mention it in the documentation. You can simply pass the encoding to TextWidth() and TextExtent() in the second argument.

Re: AlphaAppleDemo and 16Bit Workbench-Screen

Yes, it needs compositing because otherwise it would be much too slow. If it's really working in 16bit mode too, then OS4 is doing some tricks here and it will eat up more memory than 16bits per pixel because 16bits don't have any room for any alpha information (5bits red + 6bits green + 5bits blue).

Re: AlphaAppleDemo and 16Bit Workbench-Screen

That's not a bug. Alpha transparency is of course only possible on 32-bit screenmodes because 16-bit doesn't have any room for an alpha channel.
