Re: Multiple copies of linked plugins in the temporary direc

And some other thing came in my mind... Hollywood now looks for plugins only from the progdir or libs, but both have some problems. Plugins in libs will be loaded (and memory wasted) for all Hollywood apps then, even when they don't need the plugins. You can change this behaviour by setting the SKI...

Re: Howitzer Duel

Nice practise coding, it indeed gives me Artillery Duel vibe :) If it'd be more serious game, you should pick transitions less randomly, some of those are a bit too heavy for that resolution, at least under MorphOS. And another more important thing, you have these files: howitzerduel.exe Howitzerdue...

Bad results when saving an anim to GIF

I've been trying to save anims to gifs, but seem to get some garbage to the saved gif anims often. I tried to play with different options (dither, colors, optimize, transparency), but seems that I can't find anything which would make a difference. I'm starting to think that maybe gif saving is buggy...

Re: Multiple copies of linked plugins in the temporary direc

There wouldn't be any way to load the plugin from the executable without needing to create any temporary files? And some other thing came in my mind... Re: Multiple copies of linked plugins in the temporary direc

Checking for duplicates sounds like a better approach but of course if you never quit your apps properly, you'll also be left with some files in SYS:Storage/Hollywood, although you'll never end up with the same file twice of course in case Hollywood checks for duplicates. Yeah, that wouldn't be a p...

Re: Multiple copies of linked plugins in the temporary direc

Filesystem is SFS, but maybe the problem is that I don't quit the Hollywood application separately, it's just left running when I shutdown or reboot (making a desktop enhancer in this particular case). And in general I think it can't be assumed that Hollywood apps will always be quitted, maybe user ...

Multiple copies of linked plugins in the temporary directory

I just noticed, that Hollywood will unpack the linked plugins to SYS:Storage directory (on MorphOS at least). The problem is that I get a new copy of the plugin every time I run the program on freshly booted system. It doesn't seem to notice the previously created file, and doesn't clean the old one...

UTF-8 encoding

Looks like there are couple issues with UTF-8 encoded text, at least on MorphOS where I've been testing it. 1) UTF-8 encoded text doesn't seem to work at all with bitmap fonts. At least I haven't found yet a bitmap font which would work with it, while they do work with some other programs even with ...

Re: Load File as Binary into a string

In MorphOS you can read it in plain text from ENV:MUI/screens.txt, but reading this thread it seems to be more uncertain with OS4. I don't have proper setups for OS4 and AROS to find it out... anyone else done any research? I'd rather avoid any 3rd party tools and offer my program without dependenci...

Re: Load File as Binary into a string

Is there any way in Hollywood itself to check if compositing is on nowadays? For MorphOS and OS4 at least... I have no idea about AROS, but if it has a similar situation, that too :) I thought I've seen such thing, but now it seems that I can't find any info about it. So if it's not there still, cou...
