Re: Serial.device selection under amigaos

Oh yeah, I haven't checked serial stuff in Hollywood yet, but if you really can't define the device driver to be used, it's quite limiting in many aspects. Not only in MorphOS, but on real Amigas you also might want to use USB serial adapters (I have Spider USB on my main classic Amiga). And not to ...

Re: pdf.GetText fails to get text with some PDFs

I have no idea what those two characters are, because I can't get them with Hollywood and I don't know PDF format that well that could I dig them out with a hex editor or are the texts compressed etc. For me it looks that when I skip the two characters, I still get all visible text from the page. At...

Re: GetSystemLanguage() return value

You can compare the result from GetSystemLanguage() to those constants to figure out which language is in use. For example like this: lang = GetSystemLanguage() Switch lang Case #LANGUAGE_ITALIAN: ; Do your Italian stuff here. Case #LANGUAGE_FRENCH: ; Do your French stuff here. Default: ; Do it in E...

pdf.GetText fails to get text with some PDFs

I found some PDF which has text on pages, but pdf.GetText doesn't give anything if I try to extract all the text from a page. But if I skip the last two characters and try to get the rest of the page, then it works. Here is a test file, and here an example code: @REQUIRE "polybios" f$="c-kasetti.pdf...

Re: Best way to do lots of moving things on screen?

This is a weird issue... I modified the test code a bit to open a small window (800x600) and to run the test first with software rendering and then with hardware rendering: EscapeQuit(True) @DISPLAY {Width = 800, Height = 600} CreateBrush(1, 5, 5, #WHITE, {hardware=False}) BeginDoubleBuffer(False) S...

Re: Questions regarding buttons without layers

As example, if without layers using two simple buttons, first one a large rectangle area, and then the next one smaller, inside that larger rectangle area, then if i click on that smaller area, then which button would be activated, the big or the small one? Overlapping button behaviour is currently...

Re: Possibly a bug with OnMouseUp on buttons

I don't think it's a bug, but maybe this is what happens: Hollywood caches input events for 60 seconds (by default), and when your program goes to p_Init_TitleScreen() function, these input events aren't handled before you set the new button. IsLeftMouse() and IsRightMouse() don't clear the event qu...

Re: Change menutext

I didn't find any other solution... so I made, for example, the recent files list in RNOPDF menus by remoing & freeing the old menu, and creating a new menu.

Re: Get success/error on file save

I guess Hollywood gives an error if a write doesn't succeed, and exits (quits) the program unless you handle it otherwise. So, if you want to check it, at least one way to do it is to disable internal error handler and check yourself. Something like this: s$="blabla" f$="ram:bla.txt" ExitOnError(Fal...
