There is a C/C++ coding convention in GCC about having assignments in the middle of an expression that states that if you put two sets of parentheses around it, you meant it as an assignment. When you need a reverse lookup for the entries in one array, you need an index table. You can make one like this:

Reverse={}
For Key,Value In IPairs(array$) Do Reverse[Value]=Key
Then you can find the index of a value by looking in the Reverse table.

Allanon is working on HGUI, a cross-platform GUI for all Hollywood platforms. Perhaps that would help.

Yes. Preprocessor macros must be defined before the program starts running. if you need to define a name, use a constant definition or define a constant from the command line using an external build script.

The quotes around the variable name mean that the name of the element is literally what's between the quotes, not the contents of the variable with that name.
