CopyTable what is difference between shallow and deep copy?

I was using CopyTable command in my program, and to my surprise it tells me "stack overflow", when i use parameter true for the shallow then it works fine. What is that Deep copy doing that it gets stack to overflow when table isnt that big anyway? Or does this perhaps have to do with my other probl...

Re: MakeButton #SIMPLEBUTTON Vacant ID is userdata: 000FE...

hmm. You are right, I added one more line: ID = MakeButton(Nil, #SIMPLEBUTTON, 10, 10, 100, 100, {OnMouseOver=DebugPrint}) DebugPrint(id) DeleteButton(id) And it does work. Must be something else that failed in my original program then. I already fixed it to work different way, so cant check it out ...

Re: MakeButton #SIMPLEBUTTON Vacant ID is userdata: 000FE...

Found from manual about this Autoselection that it is not supposed to be a number but it is supposed to be something like that. Very clever system by the way to be able to use both hardfixed numbers and vacant numbers together. But so how can i then use these vacant created IDs at for example Delete...

MakeButton #SIMPLEBUTTON Vacant ID is userdata: 000FE...

I am using: ID = MakeButton(Nil, #SIMPLEBUTTON, 10, 10, 100, 100, {OnMouseOver=DebugPrint}) DebugPrint(id) And instead of this resulting in some clear number like "0" or "1" it results in "UserData: 0000000002ECF490" Is this a bug or supposed to be this way? For what I had done was to store several ...

Re: why does setlayerstyle not accept createlayer ID?

I got round the problem and probably figured what half the problem was too. Displaytextobject makes a textout layer, hence i had to figure out the ID of that new layer. I took it by looking what is the highest numbered layer attached to that bgpic, but is there a better way to do it? Displaytext don...

Re: why does setlayerstyle not accept createlayer ID?

Forgot to add one line to show that it works in other place:

Code: Select all

EnableLayers()
n = CreateTextObject(Nil, "yea", color=#BLACK)
DisplayTextObject(n, 100, 100)
SetLayerStyle(n, {text="no"})
So createtextobjecst output works when using DisplayTextObject, but it wont work when using setlayerstyle?

why does setlayerstyle not accept createlayer ID?

What am I doing wrong in here, or is this some sort of bug?
  • EnableLayers()
    n = CreateTextObject(Nil, "yea", color=#BLACK)
    SetLayerStyle(n, {text="no"})
It complains "String or number expected in argument 1!"

Re: Changing size could also change graphics automatically

It sounds easy to do, but when you actually start doing it, you notice it isnt that easy, because it affects so many things. All of them are basically easy to do, but you need a lot of modifications to your code. For example when you open a font, you have to take into consideration that that too nee...
