hmm. You are right, I added one more line: ID = MakeButton(Nil, #SIMPLEBUTTON, 10, 10, 100, 100, {OnMouseOver=DebugPrint}) DebugPrint(id) DeleteButton(id) And it does work. Must be something else that failed in my original program then. I already fixed it to work different way, so cant check it out ...

Found from manual about this Autoselection that it is not supposed to be a number but it is supposed to be something like that. Very clever system by the way to be able to use both hardfixed numbers and vacant numbers together. But so how can i then use these vacant created IDs at for example Delete...

I am using: ID = MakeButton(Nil, #SIMPLEBUTTON, 10, 10, 100, 100, {OnMouseOver=DebugPrint}) DebugPrint(id) And instead of this resulting in some clear number like "0" or "1" it results in "UserData: 0000000002ECF490" Is this a bug or supposed to be this way? I got round the problem and probably figured what half the problem was too. Displaytextobject makes a textout layer, hence i had to figure out the ID of that new layer. I took it by looking what is the highest numbered layer attached to that bgpic, but is there a better way to do it? Displaytext don...

Forgot to add one line to show that it works in other place:

EnableLayers()
n = CreateTextObject(Nil, "yea", color=#BLACK)
DisplayTextObject(n, 100, 100)
SetLayerStyle(n, {text="no"})
So createtextobjecst output works when using DisplayTextObject, but it wont work when using setlayerstyle?

why does setlayerstyle not accept createlayer ID?

What am I doing wrong in here, or is this some sort of bug?
  • EnableLayers()
    n = CreateTextObject(Nil, "yea", color=#BLACK)
    SetLayerStyle(n, {text="no"})
It complains "String or number expected in argument 1!"
