Re: AutoGenerated IDs zero out in saved tables

Thanks, it works that way by design. I was saving the table when I open up prefs window to restore if a user hits "Cancel" from within prefs. There's plenty of workarounds. I just wasn't counting on this not working as I expected. On my computer, the code is DebugPrint(a ). Not sure how that changed...

Re: AutoGenerated IDs zero out in saved tables

Thanks for wanting to help! You are spreading misinformation, however. Functions that return tables will make the variable into a table so you don't do "a={}" first. You can see below excerpts from the documentation for ReadTable, GetCommandLine, and RemoveItem that you don't declare a variable as a...

AutoGenerated IDs zero out in saved tables

Hi, I use Hollywood 8.0 on WinUAE with OS3.9 and AROS i-386. The following code saves some auto-generated brush ids in a table, prints them, saves the table, restores the table, and then prints the ids. The ids are zero when reprinted while I expected them to be saved and restored. I think I can fin...

SetDisplayAtrributes x & y don't work except for positional constants

Hi, I'm running Hollywood 8 on both WinUAE OS3.9 and AROS i-386. I would expect the following code to keep the changing display at coordinates (150, 150). It doesn't, it shifts to the center of the screen instead. If you use position constants (e.g., horizontal=#CENTER and vertical=#TOP) things work...

Rendering Glow Icons

Hi, I know little about icons. I'm loading stock OS3.9 icons as brushes to display in a dock. They have borders around them which are different colors between different icons. The only way I've found to get id of them is to use, for example, the Transparency=RGB(170,170,170) option. This works fine ...

Re: StrToTable()

Thanks guys. Kinda a "duh" moment for me. I figured out how to do it without this function.

StrToTable()

I'm trying to create user-defined menus so am creating the menu at run-time, not compile-time. I parse the menu definition and DOS/REXX commands from a user file. I have compiled the menu definition in the correct format in a string. CreateMenu() complains that it wants a table, however. The above f...
