Calling Hollywood Developers

Post by djrikki »

Do you receive any donations for all your hardwork? If the answer is a little or not much, please continue to read on.

Looking for yet another way to reach out to end-users? Of course you are!

Introducing the new Download Manager coming soon to Jack.

The new Download Manager can allow end-users to send a donation direct to the developer.

All you need is a PayPal account in order to receive donations.

Check out the images below to see how the process works.

"So how can I get involved as a Developer?"

How much does this cost me? Nothing, but the time it takes to send me an email (see my Profile on AmigaWorld).

Profile: http://amigaworld.net/userinfo.php?uid=10114

Still Interested? Simply provide the following information in your email:

1. Make as many submissions as you wish from those hosted on OS4Depot*:

* Fully qualified URL to the file
e.g. http://www.os4depot.net/share/audio/misc/ahirng.lha

2. Your preferred currency to receive payments in, e.g. GBP, USD.

3. The paypal email address in which you would like to receive payments into.

1. Just to clarify, when submitting your list to me I will check that your name appears in the 'Author' field on OS4Depot, if it doesn't not appear there then your submission will be rejected for that application until you supply further proof that you are indeed eligible.

2. Where it does occur your details will be submitted onto the donation database, however the following conditions will apply.

2a) In the case of multiple authors the onus will be entirely on you to confirm approval from all parties of the paypal email address you deem to pass on to me.

2b) In the case where a porter is involved the original author(s) by default will get priority unless parties agree in advance to the contrary. Please remember to CC all parties in email correspondence.

3) Above all I will not be liable for lost revenue through donations ending up in the wrong account/with the wrong person if rules 2a and 2b are not followed.

The scheme will be expanded to include AROS and MorphOS Applications in due course.

-----

Progress so far:

7 Developers have submitted a combined total of 127 entries to me so far, this represents a little less than 5% of the total number of downloads available on OS4Depot. Not bad for under 24 hours.

Thanks again to everyone who has contributed so far.

First: Cool stuff. I think this makes much sense and seems to be implemented in a good way.

Second: It's a bit OT, but how did you create your GUI for Jack? This doesn't seem to be ScuiLib!?

Thanks!

Hi Clyde,

Everything you see had to be handcoded, I created some functions of my own to imitate GUI behaviour.

Its a little outta date now, but you can download and play with this.

Ah, ok, I see, thanks!

So in general, a version for AOS3 should be possible, right?

Correct, however having trouble with AROS mouse pointer support atm. If your gonna use AISS Icons you need to use @BRUSH when compiling for non-AmigaOS targets and comment it out when compiling directly for AmigaOS.
