Update for AVCodec plugin available

An update of the AVCodec plugin for Hollywood 5: Infinity has just been released. This update fixes some problems with WMV video files. A new feature is that the plugin now establishes a gateway to Hollywood's sound stream interface so that Hollywood can now play audio files supported by the FFMPEG codec collection as well, for example M4A/AAC (used by iTunes). This is especially useful on systems like AROS and Linux because Hollywood doesn't support MP3 playback on these platforms by default.

You can download the plugin from the official Hollywood portal. Thanks to Hollywood 5.0's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS3 (Classic), AmigaOS3 (FPU), AmigaOS4, MorphOS, WarpOS, AROS (Intel), Linux (PowerPC), Linux (Intel), Mac OS (PowerPC), Mac OS (Intel) and Windows are provided.

There's no problem with the archive. The user should check his browser settings.

<self-praise>
The good thing about this update is that it demonstrates the clever design of the Hollywood plugin interface. First I thought that I'd have to create a separate plugin like avaudio.hwp to support Hollywood's sound stream interface. This would have been a great waste of resources because the plugin is over 2 MB of code. But thanks to the clever design of the Hollywood plugin interface it's possible to do it in a single plugin that just has two different capability settings: video decoding and sound stream handling. :-)

Fantastic pluggin with it now we can see flv and mp4 videos, a fantastic and good progress to make games with this format for example as the flash games with video included.

@steff285:
Yes, you have to put it in the same directory as the compiled Linux executable.

@Andreas

Even though I do tend to agree with the German proverb, "Eigenlob stinkt," I really appreciate what you've done with the Hollywood plugin system; so I'd say that some self-praise (as well as some very-satisfied-user-praise) is certainly in order.

Keep up the great work!
